I recently visited San Francisco over Labor Day Weekend and had such an amazing trip touring the city! Hopefully you can refer back to this weekend guide to San Francisco and have the same memorable experience during your own trip.
Pier 39 / Fisherman’s Wharf – Shopping and dining on the waterfront with views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Also a great place for some amazing clam chowder!
Golden Gate Bridge – The one’s a given isn’t it? Best places to view the bridge are at Fort Point and Hendrik Point at the Marin Headlands. Or you can just walk across it!
On the Golden Gate Bridge
Chinatown – The oldest and largest Chinatown in outside of Asia. Delicious authentic and inexpensive Chinese food. A place with TONS of character.
Ride Cable Cars – An iconic mode of public transportation in San Francisco. Definitely worth a ride, especially if you’re able to stand and ride on the side of the car! $7 one-way and $20 for an all day pass.
Lombard Street – One of America’s most “crooked” streets. The famous street sits on a steep hill and has either turning points as you make your way down.
Painted Ladies – Some of the most photographed homes in San Francisco and probably most recognizable from the introduction clips in Full House.
Visit Big Sur – If you happen to be spending a long weekend in San Francisco, you might enjoy a day trip to Big Sur, which is only about 2hrs away. It’s a nice drive along the Pacific Highway with unmatched scenery of the coast.
